Kizhi island: wooden architecture

Kizhi island is placed in Onego Lake - this region is very specific. Coast line has complicated shape. This is visiting card of region (Karelia) - a very lot of small green islands.

At these old times the distance between Kizhi and towns was too long - for travelling. Except it, the water way was hard - lots of islands means lots of shoals. So, they were short of iron.

It was a normal village - except churches and chapels, there were some houses, wind-mill, and so on.
